Jenna is a Licensed Masters Level Social Worker (LMSW). Jenna has been working in the field of mental health since 2014. She has worked as a children’s therapist at Wichita Child Guidance Center through Kansas Children’s Service League and Comcare Children’s Services. Jenna provides individual and family therapy to children and families utilizing therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and other strengths based interventions. Jenna also specializes in play therapy with young children as young as 3 years of age. Jenna provides non-directive and directive play therapy techniques for those children with various emotional and behavioral disorders. Jenna works closely with parents to provide parenting training, attachment techniques and ways to manage behaviors in the home or school setting. Jenna provides emotional support and empathic understanding to make her clients feel safe and provide trusting relationships with her clients.
Jenna obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2010 from Washburn University and a Master of Social Work in 2013 from Newman University. Jenna completed the play therapy certificate program at Wichita State University in 2015. Jenna is currently in supervision to obtain her clinical social work license (LSCSW) and is working on obtaining the required number of hours to become a registered play therapist (RPT). She is currently in a six-month training program for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) certification through the Maiberger Institute. EMDR is an evidence-based training for treating PTSD and trauma.
