Do you feel like you’re losing it or as if you are “going crazy” sometimes? Like you have been thrown off the deep end of the pool and don’t know how to swim? Do you find your self blowing up at the smallest things? Tearing up for little or no apparent reason? Struggling to get a good night sleep and if you do sleep, you wake up feeling wiped out? Can you not get your mind to shut off? Struggling to get out of the house as there are too many people and too much noise. Afraid to leave your house as panic may strike out of nowhere at anytime? Are these symptoms causing difficulties in your relationships and interfering with your ability to hold a job? Does this sound familiar? If so, I have good news for you. You are not “going crazy”. It may feel like it at times, but in reality, you are likely reacting in a very natural way to some thing or things that have, at some point, made you feel overwhelmed.
When we hear the word trauma, we automatically think of things like terrible accidents, disasters, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, or neglect in childhood, loss of a loved one, or experiencing the horrors of war. Did you know things like early separation from parents or caregivers, chronic bullying, having prolonged physical illness, losing a job or relationship, or even having a minor fender-bender can be traumatic and can stack up to cause problems, even years after the trauma or traumas occurred? At its simplest definition, trauma is any experience in which we feel totally helpless.
With advancements in trauma therapies, you can recover. Neuro-cognitive tools such as Brainspotting and EMDR, combined with traditional cognitive therapies can allow your brain to utilize its own natural ability to let go of residual physical and emotional traumatic memories, and heal. Utilizing Brainspotting and EMDR, Kenneth has seen individuals heal and regain control over their lives. The single thing that drives him in his work is his belief in the power of the brain and the ability of people to heal, even from the worst circumstances. When you are ready to begin the journey towards the peace of mind and the happiness you deserve, call 316-685-9311 to schedule an appointment.
